About time! 07-27-2024

It has been two weeks since I have picked up my camera. Not feeling great on Wednesday two weeks ago and a doctor's appointment this week cancelled out the Botanical gardens two weeks in a row. Today, I just headed back to the back yard with the dogs.
Did you notice the tiny spider on the top of the blossom on the right?

I think this is the best photo of a flame acanthus blossom I have ever gotten.

This blossom is a whitemouth day flower. It is a wild plant in the Wild zone.
Notice the holes in the upper left corner leaves. There is a type of bee that cuts those out and takes them to build a nest.
This beauty is a tie vine blossom. It is also called cotton morning glory. The blossoms will fold up at night and reopen in the morning.
The herb garden looks like it has a lot of stuff. We only planted the one basil plant next to the oregano. All the others are volunteers.
I have yet to identify this small tree. My best guess is some kind of fig.

This is the herb garden as seen from the patio. I think Jared did a good job, but the bottom boards are going to need reinforcement soon.

Most people would haul this to the curb. I actually love my brush pile.
I really like this shot of Miss Olive. She was laying in the yard. I could only see her between the shelf and the top of Rachel's outdoor cabinet.
I need to clean this bird bath. Right now, it thinks it is a pond. Somehow the rain that just came caused an algae bloom!
Well, at least one cicada didn't fall pray to Miss Olive's nighttime snacking.
I just looked up Kondalia berries. They are edible for humans. I'll eat some tomorrow.
I know these are some sort of aphids. The interesting thing is that ants are tending to them like livestock. They seem to like the sappy excretion.
This is a scruffy looking titmouse.
The feeder that the Chickadee is on kept landing on the ground whenever a big wind lifted up the baffle. I moved it so it is more protected by branches. Now I can't get good pictures.
This branch is where the feeder was. Now birds use it as a perch.

Mr. Vinny was sniffing for something.

He actually started digging for something. I have never seen him do that before.
