BG: Fresh Look 08-14-2024

It was a great day to go to the Botanical Gardens. I got there extra early today. The humidity was stifling, but a cool breeze made it bearable. There are a lot of new plants being put in. Anxious to see them grown and blooming.





These are baby papayas growing on the tree in the picture below.




These are actually little round purple peppers.
I guessed that these were okra blossoms earlier. Now, the okra pods are showing, so there's no doubt.







This white winged dove had strange coloration compared to the ones at my house.









This is a rare redheaded mocking bird. He has either gotten berry juice on himself from eating condalia berries, or blood from a poke by a condalia thorn. I suspect the blood. There were about a dozen of these guys chowing down in the trees. He was the only redheaded one.


The Blue Heron was still hanging out in the same place on the island.
