Catch Up! 10-17-2024

I have been really lazy lately. This post has a mishmash collection of photos taken from October 10th through October 17. Most are taken in the back yard. Some are taken during a birdwalk in the Sanctuary of Headwaters at Incarnate Word. In keeping with my lazy state of mined, I will only label the ones that I feel need it.
I watched this guy hiding in the basil for a while after witnessing him catch and devour a honey bee!

I was using macro for this shot. The bee took issue with it and flew at me!

This hawk was already perched in the tree when I arrived for the bird walk.
No matter where I stood, I couldn't get a good shot because of the light behind it.
There were several phoebes in the trees as we waited to start the walk.
This is Pam Ball introducing newbies to the Sanctuary.
Patsy Inglet and her husband Tom led the walk. They are my favorite birders.

These are seed pods on my Lindheimer's Senna.

The Brasil (Bluewood Condalia) trees in my wild zone are loaded with berries. They really need some rain, though.
This is a view of the house as seen from behind the Wild Zone and the corner of the backyard.
These are my volunteer chiltepin peppers growing in Jared's herb garden.

My hackberry trees are loaded with fruit. I hope to see lots of cedar waxwings coming to feed on then!

This was my lunch after the gym today. It is a cold brew with oat milk.
I filled the bird feeders today. Look who heard about it.

Olive finally ran him off!
