Cool Again! 06-06-2024
We've had some AC issues. It went out again on the 4th. We were without it on a day when the heat index for San Antonio was 117 degrees. No it was not fun. Rachel and I slept in the den with all of our fans going in 85 degrees that night. I was in no mood or condition to go to the Botanical Gardens, yesterday. Besides, someone had to wait for the repairman, IF the part they needed came in. Well, it did come in, and all appears to be well. By bedtime last night, temperatures were back to normal in the house. So, today, after working out at the gym, I went out and took some pictures.

These fire flowers come up in the Wild Zone whenever there is a bit of rain and whenever I water there. |
Y'all know how much I love my Wild Zone. It is like having a tiny piece of ranch land. |
Italian oregano blossoms in the herb garden. |
iNaturalist says this is a baby mulberry tree. I hope it is! |
All of the Brazil (AKA Bluewood Condalia) are fruiting out. |

Nope! |
Still nope! |
Hackberries... |
Honey mesquite blossoms. These are outside of our privacy fence. The ones in our yard all died out. I keep hoping to find one growing in the Wild Zone. |
No idea. Just liked the look of it. |
I think these are Nightshade berries. |
This is all that remains of the Canadian lettuce plants. I like the geometric pattern the seeds make before being blown away with the wind. This is an invasive plant that is rapidly taking over in Texas. The pollinators love it, so I leave it alone in my Wild Zone. |
These are the remains of Canada Lettuce. |
What a goof. I know having my ear like that would drive me crazy. |
Titmouse... Now that there is a baffle on this feeder, the cakes last nearly two weeks! |
Hot little monkeys waiting for Daddy to go in the house. |
