Cool Breezes Make Me Happy 09-30-2022

It certainly was cooler when I let the dogs out at 5:00 AM today. As far as I was concerned, it stayed cool all day. Even in the late afternoon, I was comfortable in the cool breezy shade of my back yard. Don't get me wrong, I love the hot blistering days, as well. But sometimes a little change can be nice.

Jared's basil going to seed...
This Northern Cardinal perched on the fence above the bird bath for at least 20 minutes.

Miss Olive is training Skelator to be a squirreler!
Just missed his flight. Here he had just landed in the neighbor's tree. Good job Miss Olive!
There were several Mockingbirds in the yard today. Some were scarfing down these Pistache berries from the neighbor's tree.
Unfortunately, Chinese Pistache is an invasive. These Mockingbirds will now spread seeds all over through their poop.

This is a $25 bird bath from Walmart with a $10 floating solar fountain. Both are about to be retired after three years of service. I want a true old fashioned concrete bird bath. I will buy a new solar fountain for it, but I want the kind that are fixed in place. This one floats to the side and sprays water out of the bath.

Queen butterfly on Greg's Blue Mistflower in Rachel's front landscaping.
Tried to get a good picture of this guy drinking with a spray from the fountain at the same time. They were both uncooperative.
More of Jared's basil going to seed. So pretty when it does this.
This particular Northern Cardinal had an attitude problem. He kept chasing the sparrows off the feeder, as if he owned the place.
I liked this shot with his tail showing.
He was just about to fly off in this shot. I think he frightened that little sparrow under him.
I just missed a good flight shot.
