Flying Creatures
I love this time of year. When it starts to get cooler, I hang my suet feeder and round seed cake feeder. They both tend to keep the birds busy just a little longer to give me more time to get a good shot. The parakeet was back. He seems well fed and healthy.
I am looking forward to the day when my Bird Buddy comes. Rachel got me one for my birthday. It has a camera and sends me a message when a bird is visiting. It also is programmed to choose the best shots of the bird and send it to me as an electronic post card, complete with an ID of the bird!
My grandmom had a parakeet named Woody for many many years. May be she sent him to visit me. |
This is a crested Titmouse, but in England they just call them "tits". The 3rd grader in me is giggling! |
House Sparrow |
Gorgeous female Northern Cardinal. |
House Sparrows |
Isn't she cute?! |
Female Grackle They took over the yard for a while. Even Vinny gets upset and chases them. I don't mind them. They just make way too much noise. |
All of the birds like the suet. I hope I start seeing more woodpeckers. They love it! |
Great-tailed Grackle |
male Northern Cardinal |
Trying to decide if the seeds on the ground would be better. |
