GRSP April 2024 Part 1
These shots were taken on the morning of Monday, April 15th. It was such a gorgeous day. This park is always beautiful, but this time it was off the scale!
Antelope Horn Milkweed. The park was blessed with an abundance of this monarch favorite. |
I think the blossoms are stunning. They look like they are made of wax. |

I spent 20 minutes trying to catch one of these Orange Sulphur butterflies in flight. When they land, they close their wings. This is the only shot of about 60 that even has a butterfly in it. They were too fast for me! |
Bluebonnets and a Salt Marsh Moth caterpillar. The pink spots on the bluebonnets let the pollinators know that other insects have already gotten all the pollen. |
Some of the bluebonnets have gone to seed. |
More Antler Horn Milkweed. |
I love moss covered trees! |
This is a mix of beautiful lichens. I am obsessed with this stuff. God is amazing! |
This just caught my eye and screamed, "Take my picture!" |
iNaturalist says this is a Gray Redhorse fish! It is NOT! It is a damselfly, probably one of the dancers. |
