GRSP April 2024 Part 3
These are my favorite photos from Tuesday, April 16th. I couldn't believe how many different birds came to the blind while I was there. It was a euphoric experience for me.

![]() Gulf Fritillary on Texas Native Lantana |
![]() This is the only deer I saw during this visit. |

![]() Southern Purple Mint Moth on a tiny Four-nerved Daisy... This guy was tiny. If you broke a candy corn in half, the pointy half would be about his size. |
![]() I took a lot of shots of these flower-covered prairies. They are STUNNING in person. Plus, there is no describing the wonderful smell. |
![]() I know that these pictures are not the best, but I was really excited to see this Blue Grosbeak in a tree about a football field away. I zoomed in all the way and hoped I got it. I had to really adjust the exposure to get his colors to show up. It won't win any prizes, but your can see him. |

![]() Indian Blankets have to be some of the prettiest wildflowers! |
![]() Lesser Goldfinch |
![]() Orange-crowned Warbler |
![]() You can see his "Orange Crown" better in this shot. |
![]() Orange-crowned Warbler after his bath |
![]() I am pretty sure this is another Orange-crowned Warbler. |
![]() Nashville Warbler |
![]() Spotted Towhee |
![]() Chipping Sparrow |
![]() A very wet Lincoln's Sparrow |
![]() This is probably a Nashville Warbler. Something about the eye looks off to me, but may be a result of the bath. |
![]() Blue Grosbeak |
![]() Chipping Sparrow The little white specks in some of these shots is drizzle. |
![]() Nashville Warbler |
![]() NO! This beautiful little Warbler is not a Golden-cheeked! This is a Black-throated Green Warbler. I am really sad that the drizzle ruined these shots. |
![]() Isn't he cute? |
![]() This shot is almost like the one before, but has less rain. |
![]() Chipping Sparrows |
![]() This is a second Black-throated Green Warbler. You can see the green in this shot. |
![]() It may just be the angle, but I don't think this one is as cute. |
![]() Lincoln's Sparrow |
![]() Chipping Sparrow |
![]() Clay-colored Sparrow |
![]() This is definitely a Bluebird. Eastern or Western... I can't decide. |
![]() Okay... iNat says this one is an Eastern Bluebird. I only saw two, so I guess that's what they are. |
![]() Eastern Bluebird |

![]() Eastern Bluebird |
![]() I just missed a shot of the century! Story of my life! |
![]() Eastern Bluebird |
![]() Chipping Sparrow |
![]() Chipping Sparrows |
![]() Why are teenage boys so ugly? This is a juvenile or molting Sparrow of some kind of another. |

![]() Dung Beetle making his poop ball in a fresh pile of horse poop. |
![]() With his ball of poop ready, he took off rolling it while standing on his front legs. I followed this particular Dung Beetle because I thought he had a pattern on his shell. When I looked on the computer those white bits were little flies! Super cool! |
