GRSP Part 4 08-10-2022

Wednesday PM... I hiked over to the new bird blind. Although the water was on again, there weren't many birds. I stayed for nearly an hour enjoying the view. Large clouds were forming in the distance. I was really hoping that the storms I was seeing on the radar map were going to make it to the park. When I got a notice saying rain was starting in Spring Branch in five minutes, I started hiking back to the truck. The rain never came, but I got some pretty pictures. I went on to the other bird blind, but there were only a bunch of scruffy looking cardinals, so I took a quick shot of one of them and headed back to the Colby 2.0.
Lesser Goldfinch
You can't see the water, but it was there. This guy preferred a really shallow little trickle spot.
When I shot this, a dark cloud had just covered the bird blind.

This is the view looking out of the front entrance of the bird blind.
These looked more ominous in person.
That's my truck in the center at the end of the trail.
I love the views here.
You just can't get the same feeling looking at the sky in the city.
This is the crosswalk and the trailhead parking lot for the Painted Bunting Trail.
This is a juvenile Northern Cardinal. I am not certain of the gender.
There it goes!
