Hints of Spring 03-02-2023

It is kind of a weird day today. It is is about 70 degrees, sunny, breezy, and a little more humid than it has been. But, the weather folks are telling us that hellacious thunderstorms are coming around 7:00 PM. This beauty outside may be the calm before the storm, but I still enjoyed looking for signs of spring. I love this time of year, especially when I find buds on a plant I didn't expect to make it!
Evening Primrose

Crackpot Roses (ASA Knockout) White, yellow, and coral flowers on the same plant!
This is Jared's Redbud Tree. It has these flowers before eventually getting nice big green leaves.

It was about a foot tall when he got it at his Alamo Area Master Naturalist graduation.
These came back from last year.
Woodsorrel... Not sure which one.
Texas Nightshade
Each of those little fuzzballs will most likely have a bloom!
Cue the choirs of angels! I thought my Mexican Buckeye was a gonner. It just turned all brown and never lost its leaves as it has in the past. But there are nice little green buds.
The oregano and rosemary in Jared's herb garden made it through the winter.
This little beauty is the only one of its kind in my backyard. It is Tenpetal Thimbleweed (AKA Tenpetal Anemone and Anemone berliandieri)

Did you see the female flying in the corner?
