Two for Tuesday 06-11-2024
Yesterday, I sat outside and took some photos of birds and stuff. I didn't get anything really great, and because I got tire for some reason, I decided I wasn't going to bother posting them.
This morning I had the pleasure of going to see my friend Norma's Art exhibition at the Central Library downtown. Since I was already close by, I decided to hit the Botanical Gardens. Unfortunately, I just couldn't handle the heat. I stayed about an hour before heading home feeling defeated by Mother Nature. I didn't get very many photos, so I decided to do a post with the shots from yesterday and today.
As you can see, we got a lot of rain, finally. This is our rain gauge. |
I wanted these hummingbird shots to be wonderful. Unfortunately, I was shooting into the light and they are not that great. |
This little guy was playing with Olive. He would drop behind the fence and hide for a while. Then, when Olive lost interest, he would pop up and chatter at her. |
Look at all these aloe vera pups! |
Both of my Texas native Lantana plants are showing signs of a second bloom. |
The mallow is getting eaten by some kind of caterpillar. It also has vines growing on it and trying to choke it out. |
Okay, the rest of the photos are from the Botanical Gardens. |
figs... |
I can't decide if the berries are blurry or just reflect light in an odd way. |
Sometimes, I get distracted by the day to day maintenance activities. Love watching. |
I almost got this dude in flight! I was a few inches to the left. |
Remember the pearl milkweed? It is all gone. This is a seed pod. |
These are inland sea oats. I love the contrast in between the green ones and the pinkish ones. Later this summer they will all be golden. |
I don't know what these are, but they were the size of dinner plates! |
