What Eclipse?
Rachel and I were supposed to be camping at Kerrville Schreiner Park for the eclipse. We cancelled our plans when we started hearing about the hoards of people who were planning on heading out there. Instead, we opted for a quiet celebration with the family at home. Josh, Cat, and Skeletor came down yesterday. Jared joined us, and we hung out together eating eclipse themed snacks, watching movies, playing games, and going out for brunch and dinner. Then, today we continued the celebration with a nice breakfast at the house, more eclipse themed goodies, and just enjoying the family being together.
We saw a few glances of the eclipse during rare breaks in the clouds. For the most part the only exciting part for us was when it got really dark outside. When it lightened back up, the kids all packed up and went home, leaving Rachel and me to eat lunch and drink tequila sunrises. Josh texted us when they got home after the normal amount of travel time. Traffic was not a problem for them at all.
These are all pictures I took while the dogs and I were hanging out in the back yard off and on throughout the day. The birds, squirrels, and insects did not seem to care about the eclipse at all.
